Armagnac Millésime varietal from the year 2000
Cognac's big brother. Made from the traditional Armagnac grape varieties: Folle Blanche, Baco (at least 80%) and Ugni Blanc.c.
This vintage Armagnac is a single variety from the year 2000.
The Millésime 2000 is the "Créole" in the Garreau family . Its notes of tropical fruit, accompanied by an airy bourbon vanilla, develop into a fresh, crisp finish. This strong vanilla profile is the best evidence of aging in new oak barrels. Only new oak develops vanillin. Airy, long, fruity and fresh are the attributes that come to mind when enjoying a 2000 Milésime.
An Armagnac that also has the Stylistics and character of Domaine Garreau and reflects the terroir. Terroir means the soil, the environment and the people who have lived and worked there for centuries. This creates the characteristic interplay of eye (the color of Armagnac), nose (smell and fleeting scents) and mouth (taste, texture and reverberation).
Tasting Notes: Golden color. Slight hints of wood, vanilla tones on the palate, expressive mouth. Fresh finish. Strong and still balanced. Awarded the silver medal at the Concours Général Agricole Paris in 2009.
Our Armagnacs are made at Chateau Garreau in France in a family tradition that goes back more than 100 years. They are then aged in oak barrels in the estate's underground cellar (unique and spectacular of its kind). A proven delicacy. We know the producers and their domains in Bas-Armagnac personally. The production of Armagnac was first mentioned in documents in the 15th century. Cognac production only dates back to the 17th century
